Rob Nixon from Nixon Advantage joined Sir Richard Branson to run the 2010 Virgin London Marathon on 25 April 2010 to raise £2.5 million to help young people. Nixon ran his first ever marathon with the goal of completing the race without walking completing it in 4:20:57. He will be joining Branson and 99 runners from Virgin companies across the UK to raise money for the group-wide marathon charity challenge - Mission: Possible.
Virgin Unite is the non-profit foundation of the Virgin Group. They unite people to tackle tough social and environmental problems in an entrepreneurial way. Their aim is to help revolutionise the way businesses and the social sector work together – driving business as a force for good. Their philosophy is based on the belief that they can tackle the scale of challenges facing the world today. Virgin Unite’s overheads are covered by Sir Richard Branson and the Virgin Group, meaning that 100 per cent of donations received, go directly to the frontline where they are needed most.
